Dr. Lorenze completed his undergraduate degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He then attended Tufts University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1992, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. While at Tufts Medical School, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honors Society, awarded to medical school graduates at the top of their class.
After obtaining his Medical Degree, Dr. Lorenze completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency with Yale-New Haven Hospital. Following his internship and residency, he undertook his hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at Tufts University. Dr. Lorenze is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In order to stay up to date in his field he maintains a Professional Membership with the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Connecticut State Medical Society, Middlesex County Medical Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Lorenze specializes in hand and upper extremity injuries, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery as well as work-related and cumulative trauma injuries. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Middlesex Hospital. Dr. Lorenze maintains a position on the Middlesex Hospital Board of Governors.
