Dr. James J. Yue specializes in the treatment of spinal disorders.
Dr. Yue is the immediate past co-chief of the orthopaedic spine surgery section at the Yale School of Medicine which he directed from 2002-2017.
He has been the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator on a number of FDA and non FDA clinical trials for disc replacement, motion sparing, and endoscopic spine surgery clinical trials. He has published and presented over 100 scientific articles and abstracts and 2 major spinal surgery textbooks. He is a journal reviewer for several international spine surgery journals.He is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Frank H. Netter Medical School at Quinnipiac University.
Dr. James J. Yue was most recently co-chief of the orthopaedic spine surgery section at the Yale School of Medicine. He was also director of the ACGME Yale Spine Fellowship as well as the lead surgeon for motion sparing as well as endoscopic spine surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA where he received an A.B. degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in biology. He completed his medical school training at the Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, IL and orthopaedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland, in Cleveland, OH where he worked closely with Dr. Henry Bohlman. He completed two post residency fellowships, the first at the RA Cowley Shock Trauma Hospital in Baltimore, MD and the second at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK under the supervision of Mr. John K Webb and Mr. John O’Brien.

He is the Chair of the Education Committee for the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery and IITTSS spine society. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery in the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
He has published and presented over 100 scientific articles and abstracts and 2 major spinal surgery textbooks. He is a journal reviewer for several international spine surgery journals.
