Jaclyn A. Ryan, PA-C
Jaclyn Ryan, PA-C is a licensed, Board Certified Physician Assistant with over 27 years of wide and varied experience in the field of orthopaedics. Jaclyn, a native of Vermont, graduated Johnson State College in Johnson, VT with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Allied Health/Medical.
Later, following her acceptance to graduate school, she graduated from Yale University School of Medicine as a Physician Assistant. During this time, she was an honors recipient for a medical review paper on: Surgical Alternatives in the Treatment of Subacromial Impingement Syndrome. In 1994, Jaclyn was the winner of the National Peter Nyquist Medical Writing Award Paper Presentation at the National Physician Assistant Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Jaclyn joined the Total Joint Practice of Dr. John F. Irving at The Orthopaedic Group in 1993 where she led a successful 18 year career, working in tandem with him specializing in Total Joint Replacement and all aspects of adult reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee treating patients within the office and assisting Dr. Irving in the operating room.
In 2011, Jaclyn relocated out west with her partner of many years, Russ Francis. She continued to hone and develop her expertise in orthopaedics in the areas where they lived. At Desert Orthopaedics Center in Las Vegas, Nevada she worked with a Total Joint Replacement surgeon and all aspects of adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, treating patients daily. Later, moving to Hawaii, the native state of her partner, she worked 4 years for Hawaii Permanente Medical Group in Honolulu where she was a Staff Physician Assistant in the Orthopaedic Department treating patients of all ages with a full schedule in all aspects of General Orthopaedics, as well as assisting in the OR.
In 2016, Jaclyn and Russ pursued their dream of owning a ranch where they could ride their horses in their off hours. They made a home in Cody, Wyoming living the western culture of horseback riding and rodeo. Jaclyn worked as a Physician Assistant in all aspects of Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics covering both clinic patients and surgical patients at Cody Regional Health, Beartooth Orthopaedics and Bighorn Orthopaedics.
Jaclyn and Russ have decided to come back home to New England, where she has a lot of family and professional ties, settling back in Connecticut with their horses and dogs. She has rejoined Dr. Irving in his Total Joint Practice and Dr. Reznik in his Knee and Shoulder Sports Medicine Practice. We are excited to welcome Jaclyn back home to join us at Connecticut Orthopaedics.
