Dr. Stephanie Arlis-Mayor is privileged to work with athletes at all levels of competition and of all ages. She works as Team Physician for US Soccer and as a Head Team physician for Yale Athletic Medicine providing all the medical care for Yale’s varsity student athletes. She also enjoys caring for her high school athletes, as well as adults at all levels of fitness. She spends time with her patients to understand their concerns and to help them get back to an active life.

Full Biography

As a specialist in Primary Care Sports Medicine, Dr. Arlis-Mayor focuses on the non-surgical musculoskeletal and medical problems of athletes and active people. Care is customized to provide comprehensive management of the athlete at all skill levels, from the weekend sports participant to the elite athlete. Along with management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, she also cares for patients with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, overuse injuries and athletes with acute and chronic medical illness which affect sports and fitness. She provides pre-participation sports evaluations and works with patients to address return to play decisions after injury or illness. She is skilled in ultrasound guided procedures including platelet rich plasma injections (PRP) and prolotherapy. She has special expertise in sports related concussion management including neuropsychological testing.

Along with her work at Connecticut Orthopaedics, she is Chief of Athletic Medicine at Yale Health and Head Team physician for Yale Athletic Medicine. In that role, she is responsible for creating and implementing the Sports Medicine program for Yale varsity student athletes. She also teaches residents and medical students in Primary Care Sports Medicine.

And like many of her patients, she continues to participate in competitive sports as a player in the Nutmeg Women’s Soccer League.
