Melissa Jurgen, OTR/L, CHT

Melissa joined Connecticut Orthopaedics in 2004 and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Hand Therapy program. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and earned her Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential in 2006. In 2009, Melissa became Manager of the Hand Therapy Department, a role she continues to hold while leading clinical excellence and collaboration across the service line. She began her career training alongside hand surgeons in New York City and specializes in complex post-operative rehabilitation, traumatic injuries, fractures, and custom orthotic fabrication. Melissa has developed a comprehensive hand therapy student and mentorship program, presented at national orthopedic conferences, and serves as a guest lecturer at local universities, reflecting her commitment to education and professional advancement.
