    Our Comprehensive Approach to Rheumatology

Rheumatology is a fully integrated part of our orthopaedic practice. When you meet with one of our rheumatologists, they’ll begin by evaluating your joints, as well as your overall health, to get a better understanding of how pain is affecting your life. To get an accurate diagnosis, we may perform a blood test or an X-ray right here in the office.

We’ll develop a treatment plan that’s personalized to your lifestyle to help relieve your discomfort. This often includes a combination of medication to relieve your symptoms and exercise to strengthen your joints. Your rheumatologist may collaborate with our physical therapy team to develop a therapeutic exercise regimen that’s right for you.

If joint replacement surgery is an option for you, we’ll coordinate with our skilled surgical team who use the latest techniques to perform procedures at our own Surgical Center or at The Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute at MidState Medical Center. You’ll be in good hands every step of the way with our team that includes some of the best rheumatologists in Connecticut.
