 COORDINATION & CONTINUITY OF CARE

Our caring and compassionate staff of medical professionals coordinates the administrative and medical activities for the Surgical Center. Prior to the day of surgery, a nurse calls the patient to gather information about medical history and physical status to enable all team members to give appropriate, individualized care to each patient.  This RN also gives all information and instructions needed to prepare each patient for their surgery day. The post-surgical condition of the patient is assessed by telephone within twenty-four hours after surgery. Working together, attending to every detail . . .the patient's health and safety is our primary concern.

   HOME THE SAME DAY

The C.O.S. surgical team meticulously monitors each patient's condition to determine the appropriate time of discharge. Accompanied by a support person and a nurse or aide, each patient is escorted to their vehicles via wheelchair. Written instructions regarding pain medication, eating, bathing, etc. are sent home with every patient. In addition, a review of these instructions is given to the patient and their support person by a Registered Nurse while at the center.

   HOME:

  • to a family and loved ones
  • to a warm, comfortable environment
  • the same day!
