Michael Kramer, M.D. is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in Adult /Pediatric Spinal
Disorders and Spinal Trauma. His extensive and comprehensive training and experience makes
him a valuable member of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C.
- Born in Huntington, New York, he received his B.A. degree from Wesleyan University,
Middletown, CT and his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine, New York.
He completed his internship and assistant surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
His orthopaedic surgery residency was also at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Afterward, he
received a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery, University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore,
Maryland.
- Dr. Kramer is an attending surgeon at Yale -New Haven Hospital and Hospital of St.
Raphael. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics, Yale
University Medical School. He served as the President of the New England Spine Study
Group,from 1996 - 1999. Before this, he served as the Vice-President of the New England
Spine Study Group. A frequently requested speaker, Dr. Kramer has written and presented
for the following organizations: Southern Connecticut Scoliosis Association, National
Scoliosis Foundation Spine Conference, Yale Orthopaedic Association, New England Spine
Study Group Meeting, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Yale University School of
Medicine, Dept. of Orthopaedics and the Annual Meeting of Connecticut Athletic Trainers
Association.
- Professional Memberships include the North American Spine Society, New England Spine
Study Group, American Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society and New Haven
Medical Association. Dr. Kramer is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons.
- A resident of Woodbridge, CT Dr. Kramer resides in Woodbidge with his wife, Robin and
their five children.
