- Norman R. Kaplan, M.D. has been associated with Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists,
P.C. for fifteen years. A Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon since 1985, Dr. Kaplan has
earned the respect of many in the field of orthopaedics. His specialty areas are
Sports/Arthroscopic Surgery, Joint Replacement and General Orthopaedics.
- Born in New Britain, CT, Dr. Kaplan received a B.A. degree from Wesleyan University,
Middletown, CT and a M.D. degree from New York Medical College, New York, NY. He pursued
both a general and orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a
Fellowship in Sports Medicine, Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell Medical Center-New
York Hospital.
- Dr. Kaplan is an attending surgeon at Hospital of St. Raphael and the Temple Surgical
Center. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor, Yale School of Medicine-Yale-New Haven
Hospital.
- Professional memberships and affiliations include the American Medical Association,
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Sports Medicine and the
Eastern Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Kaplan has published articles in the Journal of Bone
and Joint Surgery and Orthopaedics on "Anterior Cruciate Deficient Knees &
Ruptures."
- A resident of Woodbridge, CT, Dr. Kaplan enjoys snow skiing, sailing and listening to
