Norman R, Kaplan is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is Fellowship trained in sports medicine with a subspecialty in knee and shoulder injuries which was completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He is a partner at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., since August of l983.
He is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital, Hospital of St. Raphael and a clinical attending for the Yale Health Plan and the Department of Athletics at Yale University. He is also and attending physician for Yale Hospital and Hospital of St. Raphael's Orthopaedic Clinics.
Dr. Kaplan received his BS degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his MD degree from New York Medical College. He did his internship and orthopaedic residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. His sports medicine fellowship was completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery, specializing in arthroscopy, knee and shoulder injuries.
Dr. Kaplan is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Medial Association, The New Haven County Medical Society, The Connecticut State Medical Association, and the Connecticut State Orthopaedic Association. He has published articles on knee and sports injuries in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
He sees patients in Milford, Orange, Hamden, Wallingford and Guilford as his main offices. Dr. Kaplan's specialties include shoulder injuries, knee injuries, arthritis treatment, hip and knee replacements, and ligament and tendon injuries, both surgical and non-surgical treatements.
