Kenneth M. Kramer, MD

Dr. Kenneth Kramer is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of all disorders of the spine, taking care of both surgical and nonsurgical management of adult and pediatric conditions of the neck and back. He has a particular interest in evolving minimally-invasive surgical techniques, percutaneous pain-relieving treatments and injection therapy. Dr. Kramer serves as president of the Connecticut Orthopaedics Foundation and as president of the Yale Orthopaedic Association, is Director of Medical Education for Connecticut Orthopaedics, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale Medical School as well as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine of Quinnipiac University. He is an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and at MidState Medical Center.

Full Biography

Born in Huntington, NY., Dr. Kramer received his bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at Yale Medical School, followed by a fellowship in spinal surgery at the University of Maryland Medical School. Upon completion of his training Dr. Kramer entered practice with Connecticut Orthopaedics, with whom he has since spent his entire professional career.

Dr. Kramer is president of the Connecticut Orthopaedics Foundation, president of the Yale Orthopaedic Association, past-president of the New England Spine Study Group, Director of Medical Education for Connecticut Orthopaedics, Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale Medical School as well Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine of Quinnipiac University, and an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and at MidState Medical Center. He has written and lectured extensively within his field, speaking to both academic and public audiences. Dr. Kramer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society, Connecticut State Medical Society, and Health Volunteers Overseas. His clinical interests include evolving minimal invasive surgical techniques, percutaneous pain-relieving treatments and injection therapy.

Dr. Kramer’s personal interests and hobbies include time spent with his wife Robin and their five children and their families, jazz and classical trumpet, tennis, cycling, film photography and reading. He serves on the board of directors of the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra and as his class secretary at Wesleyan University.
