Dr. Addis-Thomas is a non-surgical Foot and Ankle Specialist. Her primary goal is to provide preventative diabetic foot and ankle care to avoid limb and life-threatening diabetic foot infections. She is also expert in other aspects of podiatry such as ingrown toenails, heel pain, corns and calluses, wound care, orthotics, dermatology of the foot (including athlete’s foot, fungal toenails, and warts), flatfeet and tendonitis. She is an attending physician at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Hospital of Saint Raphael and Midstate Medical Center.
Dr. Addis-Thomas served as Chief Podiatric Resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital during her final year of residency. She has co-authored several scientific papers, posters and book chapters. Upon graduation, she received special recognition for outstanding academic achievement during her residency.
Dr. Addis-Thomas is originally from Vero Beach, Florida. She graduated from Colgate University, where she majored in Molecular Biology. She was selected to perform research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and traveled to China to study Eastern and Western Medicine. She then attended Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences, where she graduated Valedictorian in 2007. Dr. Addis-Thomas was inducted into the National Podiatric Honor Society, Pi Delta, on April 28th, 2007.
She completed her three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2010.
Dr. Addis-Thomas is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association. She is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Also, she is unique in that she sees patients in a NON-COS office.
